    This new updated course is designed to assist future administrators of assisted living facilities who will take the Idaho Administrators Licensing Examination.

    This course provides a comprehensive overview of the responsibilities of an assisted living administrator. Completing an approved course and passing the examination are required in order to receive an administrator's license in Idaho.

    IHCA is pleased to present this Activity Directors Training Course. Well-trained and motivated activity staff, significantly add to the quality of life of residents in Nursing and Assisted Living facilities. This course is designed to provide a basic training for those new to the activity profession. This training is also an excellent course for Activity Assistants and the most experienced Activity Director.

    Effective with ALL registrations beginning February 1, 2016 – students will have 6 months from the date of registration, to complete the online coursework & exam

    To register for this course you MUST have completed the IHCA SNF AIT Preceptor Course in the past 10 years. 

    Preceptors play important roles in training, aspiring administrators to deal with a variety of situations while successfully running a facility. 

    What You Will Learn From This Course:

    In this course, participants will:

    • Re-familiarize self with IBOL Statutes, Administrative Rules & Forms, and
    • How to access the NAB AIT Program Manual. 

    Upon successful completion (80% or better) of the “Course Completion Exam”, participants will be mailed a certificate from IHCA.

    The cost of this course is $500 for non-members and $250 for IHCA members (call for discount code BEFORE registering).

    PLEASE NOTE before registering for this course:  To apply to be a preceptor, IBOL requires you be currently practicing as a nursing home administrator and who has practiced a minimum of two (2) consecutive years as a nursing home administrator.

    What You Will Learn From This Course:

    In this course, participants will:

    • review & apply adult learning principles & practices,
    • become familiar with IBOL Statutes, Administrative Rules & Forms,
    • access the NAB AIT Program Manual; and
    • understand the expectations of an Administrator in Training (AIT) program.  

    Upon successful completion (80% or better) of the “Course Completion Exam”, participants will receive a certificate from IHCA and be better prepared to create a comprehensive program that cultivates successful AITs.

    This course requires an ANFP qualified preceptor. If you do not have one, please choose this course.

    This module is designed for individuals working as a manager or supervisor in the food service industry. Content includes:  staffing, scheduling, motivation & empowerment, performance reviews, change & diversity, recruitment & retention, leadership, policy and procedure development, staff development, and personal professionalism.

    This module is designed to instruct any food service professional working in a facility serving meals to a large population including schools, health care facilities, and correctional facilities. You will be introduced to various service & delivery systems, menu writing, recipe standardization, inventory control, purchasing, receiving and storage, food production, budget management and financial controls. This course meets and exceeds the American School Food Service Association requirements for certification.
